Dreams From the Heart Camp began as an after-hours Q&A Forum for the kids of Pediatric Cardiology Associates who have had open heart surgery. The doctors and nurses who ran the Forum learned that the kids had a LOT to share with them, as well as each other, so they decided to get out of the office and go have some fun together !
In 1994 we spent a fun-filled weekend with 'our kids', and each year has gotten better and better......
Events
The camping experience begins with a Blue Bird bus ride to Lake Chautauqua where many, for the first time, experience the joys of swimming, canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, working on crafts, and evenings singing around the campfire. During this time, they are also given the unique opportunity to discuss health concerns with their peers and the cardiologists from Pediatric Cardiology Associates of WNY, LLC. Professional entertainers and an ice cream social are enjoyed by all, as well as camp Olympics and an award ceremony. The weekend is concluded with a presentation of pictures taken over the last four days and a talent show performed by the campers.
Funding
Dreams from the Heart Camp is a non-profit organization that is completely funded by donations and the generosity of the community. All donations are tax deductible and 100% goes directly to the Dreams from the Heart Camp. Dreams from the Heart Camp is but one of the ways that we continue to serve our community. Your donation will help provide unrestricted operating support to continue our summer camp. It will help us to meet the challenges of the future and will assure the continuing excellence and high standards we have set for this project.
